Free map guide of the Gadget Show Live Exhibition - NEC, Birmingham

On the 17th April mwob visited the Gadget Show Live exhibition at the NEC, Birmingham. There we got to see all the latest and upcoming new gadgets looking to come up in the near future as well as current technology available. Needless to say it was an awesome day. Plenty pics to see after the click – come in and take a look.

Games Arena

Although we attended the final show on Sunday, it was still very busy. The first arena we entered was the games arena – with various sections and hubs showing off their 3D games, Xbox had their impressive Kinect on display, Sony PS3 had a 3D Move arena, and Nintendo had a hub area for the 3DS (which had the biggest queue!).

Most games were available to play, with even an old retro arena with some classics available to play. The most impressive however had to be the Mortal Kombat arena – displaying a number of arcade machines with the demo and a live tournament of the new game to be released – it truly does look like the MK series may be revived with this new release.

Was good to see many independant companies promoting their products  as well as the usual  big corporate brands. Looking past all the eye candy (you know all the pretty girls wearing next to nothing, handing out flyers to entice you), the freebies, and specticles there was some pretty awesome stuff: The AR Parrot Drone and the original Batmobile from the TV-series being only some of them.

Robo Challenge

Robo Wars eat your heart out – all the fans of the program had their own little battle arena to compete against each other along with some familiar faces, which was very entertaining to watch.

All in all, a very informative and enjoyable day out. Will definately be making time out next year to attend also. The future of technology looks bright, with lot’s of touchscreen and 3D!
